Escape the hustle and bustle of Bogotá and explore the legendary and sacred lagoon of the Cacique de Guatavita, the town of Guatavita.

Located 3,100 meters above sea level, in the jurisdiction of the municipality of Sesquilé, a former Chibcha chiefdom, is the Guatavita Lagoon, the most famous of the sacred lagoons of this pre-Columbian culture because it was the site of the legendary El Dorado rite.

Upon arrival at the lagoon and during a two-hour tour, a native guide of the park who speaks English or Spanish joins the group to explain the culture of the Muisca Indians.

Then we will head to the city center, you will see the most representative sites of Bogota and the most important attractions of the Colombian capital and enjoy the beauty of Bogota in this excursion with a bilingual guide, who will be in charge of answering all your questions.

Learn about the recent history and current political situation of the country by visiting the historic center and getting a first impression of this huge colorful city.

Enjoy a walking tour through "La Candelaria" and visit the Simon Bolivar Square, the Presidential House, the Fernando Botero Museum or the Gold Museum and discover the oldest square in Bogota: "El Chorro de Quevedo".

Climb to 3172 m and capture in photos, the beautiful panoramic view of Bogota from the top of Monserrate, The hill of Monserrate, located east of the Colombian Capital District, is one of the most recognizable formations of the savannah of Bogota, as well as one of the symbols of the city. We will visit the handicraft stores so you can buy their best handmade products.

El Chorro de Quevedo is the historical and cultural heart of the city. The colonial architecture is preserved almost intact. The historic center of Bogota is one of the best preserved in Latin America. El Chorro de Quevedo is currently a colorful place, full of magic and extraordinary beings that coexist with the bohemian atmosphere.

You will visit the Botero Museum, live a unique experience in the Gold Museum of Bogota that has a beautiful display of the important legend of El Dorado, a region where gold was more abundant than water and that led many daring adventurers to lose their heads and even their lives for it. The Muisca, Tairona, San Agustin, Tolima, Zenu, Nariño, Quimbaya and Tierradentro tribes were characterized by their ability as great goldsmiths and for the recognition of humanity many of their creations remained as witnesses that are admired regardless of the passage of time, venture with us to this beautiful visit.

The visit to the Guatavita Lagoon is guided in Spanish and is usually done after a group of about 10 people, who leave with the guide to walk a path of about 2 kilometers, until reaching the lagoon, during which the guide tells the history of the lagoon, anecdotes and the famous legend of El Dorado.
